Troubleshooting MoaTV
Use this guide to troubleshoot the MoaTV app. Work through the sections in order, and if you are still stuck, reach out and we will help.
Most issues clear up in a few steps
Buffering, playback glitches, login trouble or updates that will not finish are almost always fixed with a quick update, restart or cache clear. Jump to the section you need:

Do not reset to factory default
A factory reset removes every app and your MoaTV subscription code, which means you would have to re-pay for your subscription. Use the restart steps below instead.
Channel or source issues
If a channel is broken, freezing, out of sync, or has no video or audio, first try backing out and going into the channel again. If that does not fix it:
- 1Report it on the channel: open the headset icon on the channel right when it first comes up.
- 2Reach out to us with the exact Name and channel Number that is giving you issues, on our chat or by email. We must have both the name and the number to fix the problem.
Check for Firestick updates
An out-of-date Firestick causes many issues. Check for updates first.
- 1Home: go to the Home section of your Firestick.
- 2Settings: navigate to the right of the screen and click the Settings icon.
- 3My Fire TV: open My Fire TV.
- 4About: choose About.
- 5Check for Updates: scroll to the bottom and click Check For Updates.
Restart your Firestick
A restart clears temporary glitches. Tip: disconnect your VPN first to see if it is causing the issue, then restart.
- 1Settings: go to Settings.
- 2My Fire TV: click My Fire TV.
- 3Restart: restart the Firestick and let it fully reboot.
Clear cache & force stop MoaTV
If MoaTV is misbehaving, clearing its cache and force stopping it fixes most problems.
- 1Home: go to the Home of your Firestick.
- 2Settings: navigate to the right of the screen (Settings).
- 3Applications: open Applications.
- 4Manage Installed: click Manage Installed Applications.
- 5MoaTV: select MoaTV.
- 6Clear the cache.
- 7Force stop the application.
- 8Launch the application again.
App won't update?
If you are having trouble getting the MoaTV app to update on your Firestick, do not worry. This is a common hiccup and usually an easy fix.
Restart your Firestick
Use the restart steps above and let the device fully reboot before trying again.
Repeat if needed
It is normal for an update to need 2 to 3 restarts before it fully goes through. Try again and give it a moment.
Still not working? Reinstall the app
In rare cases a full reinstall is the quickest path to a clean, updated version. See our Install MoaTV on Firestick guide.
IPVanish VPN setup & troubleshooting
For the best streaming experience on MoaTV, it is important to configure your VPN correctly.
Step 1: Configure your settings
Once logged in, open the Settings menu on the right (the gear icon) and toggle these ON:
- Connect on Android Startup
- Auto-connect on IPVanish
- Threat Protection
Step 2: Select the best location
Go back to the main menu and select the Location icon on the left. For the smoothest, buffer-free playback we recommend connecting to:
Still buffering?Instead of "Best Available", scroll to the bottom of the location list and manually pick a different Server Number within that country.
